Obituary

Atkinson, NH: Robert "Bob" P. Snicer, 76, longtime resident of Atkinson, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Exeter Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Mary (Zostant) Snicer, and grew up in Albany, NY, where he graduated from the Christian Brothers Academy, Class of 1962. Bob went on to study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering in 1967. For over forty years he worked in North Andover at AT&T, Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies before his retirement.

Bob was a lifelong enthusiast of all things computers and enjoyed helping his family and friends with any of their computer issues. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors - camping, hiking, biking, skiing, and most especially roaming the beautiful beaches of Cape Cod. He was also deeply involved in serving his community over the years as a longtime member of the Atkinson Lions Club, chaired the Atkinson Government Study Committee, served on Timberlane School Board, and Budget Committees, and volunteered his time for Boy Scout camping trips. He was a devoted husband, father, and it was his biggest joy to be a grandfather (#1 fan at his granddaughter's basketball games).

Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Barbara (Pino) Snicer of Atkinson, NH, son Greg Snicer and his wife Michelle of Brentwood, NH, daughter, Robin Snicer of San Francisco, CA, and granddaughter, Christina Snicer of Brentwood, NH.
