Hampstead, NH: Robert Charles Martin, 17, of Hampstead, NH, died on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Boston, MA, the son of Edward G. and Elizabeth "Lisa" (Belden) Martin, he attended Hampstead Central and Middle Schools and was a member of the Class of 2016 at Pinkerton Academy, Derry. He attended St. Anne's Parish, Hampstead.
Robert was very much involved in the scouting program with the rank of "Life Scout" working toward Eagle. As a youngster, he was a Cub Scout, and later he was a member of Boy Scout, Troop 33, Hampstead.
He loved playing lacrosse on the Hampstead Civic Club Team. He was an avid downhill and freestyle skier, and enjoyed playing soccer, fishing, hiking and camping.
He is survived by his parents, Edward G. and Elizabeth "Lisa" (Belden) Martin of Hampstead; a twin brother, John L. Martin of Hampstead, NH; an uncle, Charles L. Belden of South Carolina; an aunt, Dr. Karen Anna Belden, DVM of Haverhill, MA and several cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Calling Hours to be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 3 - 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Route 121A), Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 9:30 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Anne's Church, Hampstead. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead.
