Kingston, NH: Robert A. Lafontaine, 81, a resident of Kingston since 1983, died Sunday August 1, 2021, at Exeter Hospital.
Born, raised and educated in Pelham, NH, he was the son of the late Julian and Rita (Gagne) Lafontaine and attended local schools. He retired in 2007 as the Head of Maintenance at Riverwalk in Lawrence, MA, after twenty years of service. Previously he was employed as a foreman for twenty years at Pelham Scrap Iron.
Throughout his younger and middle-age years, Bob built and raced cars and also enjoyed vehicle mechanical work, home improvement projects, building furniture and other woodworking, but most enjoyed the time that he spent with his large extended family.
Predeceased by his wife Rochelle (Lafayette) Lafontaine, he is survived by his present spouse, Candace Paine, three sons and daughters-in-law; Michael J. and Lisa Lafontaine of Pelham, Robert K. and Sharon Lafontaine of Mercer, ME, and Edward J. and Lynn Lafontaine of Auburn, a daughter, Gail Reardon and her partner Robert Jusko of Danville, three step-children; Michael J. Paine of Haverhill, Kara B. Paine of Limestone, ME and Rebecca A. Hertrich and her husband Christopher of Methuen, MA, five sisters; Sylvia Lanouette, of Epping, Dorothy Zazopoulos of Methuen, MA, Loretta Curtis of Windham, Claire Carrasco of Silver City, NM, and Denise Michaud of Salem, NH, nine grandchildren; Nicole, Michael, Jennifer, Jessica, Robert, Leatrice, Nathan, Haylie and Jenna, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Carol Stowers and Janet Lavoie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from, 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will begin at 12:15 p.m. and followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
