Obituary

Haverhill: Robert H. King, 90, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Hannah Duston Health Center.

Raised and educated in Haverhill, son of the late Joseph and Louise (Therrien) King, he graduated from Haverhill Trade School. A Navy veteran of W.W. II, he served as a Seaman First Class aboard the troop transport, U.S.S. West Point and destroyer escort, U.S.S. Durik, and was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, the American Area Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Area Medal.

Mr. King worked as a Metal Smith, employed at Stark and Cronk Plumbing and Heating and Cranton Oil Co. He was a longtime member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish and enjoying woodworking and working around his home and yard.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-five years, Claire (LaPerriere) King, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Laura King of Haverhill, grandchildren, Robert R. King and his wife Tanya of Haverhill, and Julie Belkus and her significant other Aaron St. Pierre of Hampstead, NH, a great grand-daughter, Camille Belkus of Hampstead. He was predeceased by his brother William Leo King.

A private funeral service will take place at Berube Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway in Haverhill with private burial with military honors in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill.
