IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert F.
Disbrow
June 19, 1943 – January 8, 2025
Robert Foster Disbrow, recently of Raymond, NH, passed away after a long illness on January 8th , 2025 at the age of 81. He was born in June of 1943 in Plainfield, NJ to Robert and Ruth (Foster) and later settled on Cape Cod, MA to enjoy retirement with his
wife Leslie Burns.
As a young man, Bob enlisted into the U.S. Army and then transferred to the Army Reserves. He worked as a tech illustrator for GE and then as a repair technician of stereotactic equipment for a medical device company.
Bob was an active outdoorsman who loved hiking, bird watching, kayaking and the beach. He especially loved cooking and blues music which complimented his love of woodworking, sketching, traveling, touring national parks, and relaxing on the beaches of the Caribbean. Bob was curious, inquisitive and adventurous with the freest of spirits.
He will be remembered for his kind, compassionate, funny and gentle soul and the way his eyes lit up when the cookie jar was freshly filled. Perhaps a quote from Henry David Thoreau describes Bob the best:
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away."
Bob was predeceased by his parents, stepson Jeffrey Burns, and nephew Daniel Mawhinney.
In addition to his loving wife, Leslie, Bob is also survived by her son Thomas Burns and his wife Catherine and grandchildren Maddox, Riley and Zachary Burns.
Bob is also survived by his children Robert Disbrow, Randi Zahn and Cassandra Cramer, sister Sarah Mawhinney, niece Kate Tenczar; and grandchildren Stephanie Disbrow, Bobby Disbrow, Abigail Disbrow, Sophia Cramer and McKenna Cramer.
Internment at Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, MA will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's honor to The Alzheimer's Association.
