Obituary

Atkinson, NH:  Robert H. Dahlquist, 77, of Atkinson, NH died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA.

Born in Worcester, MA, the son of Thure and Margareta (Wennerstrom) Dahlquist, he was raised and educated in Holden, MA, graduating from Wachusett Regional High School with the Class of 1957. He attended the Wentworth Institute in Boston and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and served as a Specialist 4 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Honorably discharged in 1967 he was a recipient of The Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Dahlquist was employed as an electrical engineer first at Computer Control Co. of Framingham and later at Visual Technology in Andover, Infoton Corporation of Burlington, Datawatch Corporation of Wilmington.  He finally retired in 2011 from High Speed Solutions which became Intel Corporation of Hudson.

A longtime former resident of Worcester and Westborough before moving to Atkinson in 1980, Mr. Dahlquist was an avid Ham Radio operator. He also enjoyed reading, camping and boating. He was a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church and had served on the Atkinson Communications Committee and was a volunteer and member of the troop committee for Boy Scout Troop 95.

Mr. Dahlquist will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of almost 54 years, Betty A. (Aho) Dahlquist, a daughter and son-in-law Christine L. and Stephen Abrams of Pleasant Hill, CA, a son, Craig R. Dahlquist of Hampstead, and grand-daughter Lindsay Abrams. He was predeceased by his twin brother Richard Dahlquist.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10a.m. at The Atkinson Congregational Church, Main St., Atkinson, which will be followed by burial with Military Honors in Atkinson Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the interment service in Fellowship Hall at the Atkinson Congregation Church. There will be no calling hours.
