Haverhill: Rita J. (Langlois) Desmarais, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died April 16, 2017 at Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.

Daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (LaPierre) Langlois, she attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1958. She was employed in the local shoe industry at Colonial Stay Co., Davco and Novelty Shoe.

A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill, Mrs. Desmarais enjoyed cooking, playing board games and cards.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Alfred Desmarais, two sons, Allen Desmarais of Norton , MA, Thomas Desmarais and his wife Michelle of Newton, NH, a daughter Tammie Hamlett of Kingston, NH, a brother Emile "Buddy" Langlois of Haverhill, two sisters, Janet Colletto of Haverhill and Kathleen Clarke of Kingston, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4 until 5:45 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
