East Kingston: Rita M. (Girard) (Sicotte) Sparfeld 96, of East Kingston, and formerly of Salem, MA, died on April 17, 2018 in Manchester.

Born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts, she was the devoted wife of the late Harry Sparfeld and loving mother of Irene Cole and her husband David of Exeter, NH and Doris "Chip" Carreiro and her dear friend Jean Willis of East Kingston, NH.

Predeceased by her son Robert L. Sicotte, her brothers Condi Girard, Donat Girard, and sisters Margaret Wilson, Simone Sullivan, and Jeannette Gear, she is also survived by her sister Bernadette Augusto of Ipswich, MA, her grandson Joshua Cole and his wife Sara and great grandchildren Jacob, Benjamin and Matthew of ME as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A devout Catholic, Rita loved the Church and believed strongly in the power of prayer. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a long serving member of the Legion of Mary, and was a Communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Newton and Plaistow, NH.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 12 p.m. in Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow NH. At the family's request, Committal Services will be private.
