Haverhill: Richard F. Sullivan, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully at his home on January 19, 2018. Born on July 18, 1925, son of the late Daniel and Leona (Goudreault) Sullivan, he attended Saint James Grammar School and graduated from Saint James High School with the Class of 1942.
Mr. Sullivan enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, and was a veteran of World War Two and honorably discharged with the rank of Petty Officer 2 nd Class. Employed for forty years at Western Electric Co., A T & T Technologies and Lucent Technologies, he retired as a Senior Material Planning Specialist.
Predeceased by his wife, Irene (Pare) Sullivan, in 2000 and his son Richard F. Sullivan, Jr, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law Anne M. Dorsey-Smith and Durrell Smith, of Bow , NH, his grand-daughter Sarah (Dorsey) Cornacchio of Haverhill and grand-sons, Michael J. Sullivan and Joseph E. Sullivan of St. Albans, VT, great-grandchildren, Dylan Zalonskas and Jason Sorey, a sister, Claire English of Andover, and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Daniel Sullivan and Eugene Sullivan, sisters, Marjorie O'Toole, Joan Burchell and Leona Lorraine Sullivan and daughter-in-law, Melissa (McGinn) Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in All Saints Church, Haverhill, followed by burial with Military Honors in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
