Obituary

Sandown, NH:  Richard L. "Rick" Perry, age 66, of Sandown, NH and formerly of Groveland, MA and Glocester, RI, died on July 27, 2020 at his home, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late Clifford A. and Mary T. (Manning) Perry.  Rick was educated in both Williamstown, MA and Wakefield, MA, graduating from Northeast Metropolitan Regional High School in Wakefield.  He received his education and training to become a skilled tradesman and was employed for twenty-seven years at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, in their Physical Plant Department.

A resident of Groveland for fifteen years and a member of Saint Patrick's Parish, Rick was a C.C.D. teacher for the parish and raised his family there. He volunteered as a coach for Groveland Youth Basketball and Youth Softball programs. He was also a member of Christ the King Council of the Knights of Columbus. He moved to Glocester, R.I. seven years ago and served on the Glocester Conservation Commission, before moving to Sandown in 2017, where he was a member of the Sandown Fire Department.  He joined the Rock Church of Plaistow, and was an active member of the church and participant in the Men's Ministry and the Childrens' Summer Camp program.

Rick was a devoted "Grampy" to his five grandchildren and enjoyed every moment that he shared with them, and also enjoyed boating.

Rick will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two daughters and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael Kaskiewicz of East Hampstead, NH and Kimberly Katsios of Falmouth, MA; three brothers, Robert Perry of New York, Clifford Perry, Jr. of Wakefield, MA and Scott Perry of Melrose, MA; a sister, Maureen (Perry) Jenkins of Amherst, MA; and five grandchildren, Sophia, Thomas, Jonathan, Brooklyn, and Addison, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife of twenty-three years, Susan (Robbins) (Perry) Rossi, with whom he had two beautiful daughters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rick's outside funeral service to be held on Friday, July 31, 2020, at 10 AM on the grounds of the Rock Church, 90 Newton Road, Plaistow, NH.  Attendees are asked to bring their own seating and follow state guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow.
