Obituary

Richard F. Parker, 78, a resident of Hampstead for the past ten years, died February 9, 2025, at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, after being stricken at home.

Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Francis T. and Simone (Rouleau) Parker, he attended local schools and Haverhill High School and was a member of Saint James Parish of Haverhill.  He joined the U.S. Navy as a young man and served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Boatswain's mate before his honorable discharge, and received the Vietnam Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, and The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon Bar with Device.
Richard was employed as the Supervisor of the Mailroom at Bank of Boston and later worked as the Supervisor of Production Control at D.S.T. Output in Hartford, CT, before retiring. He was a longtime member, secretary and board member of the Amvets in Haverhill.
Richard especially enjoyed family get-togethers, golfing most weekends and travels to Florida, Las Vegas and Aruba, and gambling at local casinos.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of twenty-three years,  Valerie (Teal) Parker, a son Tommy Parker and his significant other Susan Holzwanger of Salem, NH, a daughter, Kim Parker of Kingston, NH, a step-daughter Kathy-Jo Virge and her husband Jeffrey of Barry, VT, brothers, Francis T. Parker, Jr. of Zephyr Hills, FL, David B. Parker and his wife Kelly A. of Sandown, and Kenneth P. Parker and his wife, Desiree of Groton CT, a sister Jeanne LaFontaine of Dracut, MA, two grandchildren Nicole Clark and Ricky Caillouette and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sherry Caillouette and his brother, Wayne Parker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard's Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday February 19, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home and conclude with the rendering of military honors by the U.S. Navy at the military honors plaza on the grounds of the funeral home.
