Mailloux
November 26, 1934 – February 17, 2025
Salem, NH: Richard (Dick) Mailloux, 90 of Newburyport MA and a former resident of Salem for 65 years, died February 17, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice house.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late Leo and Blanche (Shaw) Mailloux, he attended local schools and graduated from the former Haverhill Trade School in 1953.
Dick loved to reminisce, and story tell of his younger days of caring for his many horses, and trick riding in competitions and parades with his favorite horse Sheik.
Dick was a self-employed contractor concentrating on building, electrical work and HVAC and he owned and operated Merrimack HVAC for many years.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Dick enjoyed traveling the east coast and Canada in his home on wheels (recreational vehicle) and also enjoyed visiting many countries outside the US.
He also held a pilot's license and always enjoyed flying with his brother and friends.
Predeceased in 2023 by his high school sweetheart and love of his life, married 66 years to Paula (Bouvier) Mailloux, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Jeff Christenson of Salem, NH, a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Gerald Fitzgerald of Haverhill, a sister-in-law Kathleen Mailloux of North Hampton, NH, two grandsons, Richard Christenson his companion Kate and her son Owen, Jonathan Christenson and his wife Bridget of Salem, and a great-grandson, Connor, in addition to several nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his brother Leonard Mailloux.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. His funeral service will follow at 2p.m. in the funeral home.
