Boston, MA: Richard E. Lohnes, "Ric", 70, of Plaistow, NH passed away at Brigham & Women's Hospital on October 9, 2018 after an aggressive brief illness.

Born and raised in Beverly, MA, the son of Edward "Bud" Lohnes and the late Phyllis Lohnes (Clark), Ric was a member of the Beverly High School graduating class of 1966.  After earning an Associates Degree in Electronics, Ric served four years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1972.  Ric and his wife, Pat, best friend and love of his life, lived in Haverhill for eight years before settling in Plaistow to raise their family.   They were longtime members of the congregation at West Church in Haverhill.

He was a brilliant man who was a very skilled instrument control technician. Ric was responsible for repairs, maintenance, calibration, adjustments and installation of industrial instrumentation. The equipment he controlled made sure all machines of the plant were safe and running efficiently. For many years he worked at Morton and more recently at Eisai Pharmaceuticals where he was very proud of the work he was doing.

An avid reader and music lover, Ric would read and listen to just about anything he could. He enjoyed cooking, experimenting with different recipes, and riding his motorcycle. Camping in the RV and visiting our National Parks and the Presidential Libraries are among some of his favorite trips, as well as traveling to Cuba, Peru, and all through Europe, including China. Ric had a dry but great sense of humor and was known as a natural "do gooder", helping anyone in any way he could. His time spent with family was very important to him--time up at the camp in Wolfeboro, riding the pontoon boat on Lake Wentworth, and visiting his Dad several times a week. But most importantly he cherished the time he spent with his six grandchildren.

Ric will be immensely missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-four years, Patricia (Dabrieo), daughters Cindy Ferreira and her husband Matt of Beverly, Liz Giarrusso and her husband Jim of Hampstead, Kate Lohnes and her fiance Steven Wright of Sacramento, CA, grandchildren Olivia, Grace, and Charlie Ferreira, Tyler, Gwendolyn, and Bryce Richard Giarrusso, father, Edward "Bud" Lohnes of Beverly, MA, brother Dave Lohnes and his wife Sue of Beverly, sister Jan Crosby and her husband Wayne of Danvers, as well as lots of close relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ric's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, October 12, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. at West Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.
