Lemieux
November 27, 1950 – January 30, 2018
Plaistow, NH: Richard P. Lemieux, 67, of Plaistow, NH and formerly of Amesbury, MA and Bastrop, Louisianna, died peacefully at home on January 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Amesbury, MA, the son of the late Joseph Sandy and Arlene Marie (Lamaire) Lemieux, he attended Amesbury schools. He served in the U. S. Army as a Specialist 4 during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Mr. Lemieux worked on an offshore oil rig as a Derrickhand and later worked as a manager for Sunbelt Plastics, Monroe, LA.
A member of the American Legion, Post #4, Haverhill, MA, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, repairing machinery and carpentry around his home. An avid Patriots fan, he also enjoyed volunteering his time, alongside his friend, Patricia Dennehy, at the Community Action Drop in Center in Haverhill, MA.
He is survived by his wife, best friend and longtime companion, Melinda B. Harris; three sons, Shawn D. Lemieux of Sterlington, LA and his fiancée, Leslie Anderson, Thomas J. Lemieux of West Monroe, LA, Richard P. Lemieux, Jr. of Nashua, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley (Lemieux) and Brandon McVay of West Monroe, LA; a stepdaughter, Kayla Stundze of Plaistow; a sister, Susan Farrell of Epping, NH; his brother's girlfriend, Sandy Schroeder; four grandchildren, Allie McVay, Fisher McVay, Shawn S. Lemieux and Joseph Lemieux; a niece, Cheri Comeau of Merrimac, MA and her fiancé, Jim Griffin, two great nieces, Kendra and Kadren and his mother-in-law, Betty Harris.
He was pre-deceased by his sister, Debbie Lemieux. His brother, David Lemieux passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, the day after Richard's passing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard's Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
