Duston
February 10, 1935 – July 10, 2025
Haverhill,MA: Richard Earl Duston, 90, a resident of Haverhill for the past two years, died July 10, 2025 at Penacook Place in Haverhill. Born in Danville, NH, he was the son of the late Oscar and Blanche (Bonner) Duston, and graduated from the former Sanborn Seminary in Kingston. After his high school years, he played basketball in the CYO League.
Richard was a production worker employed at LouRan Corporation for twenty years and was later employed by Taradine Electronics until his retirement. A longtime resident of Plaistow, NH, Richard was a member of Holy Angels Parish, and coached Little League Baseball and Senior League Baseball. He was a fan of most Boston Sports Teams.
Following the death of his late wife, Yvonne Lucille (Cote) Duston, he relocated to Barefoot Bay, Florida and continued to enjoy sports as a player and coach of the Senior Softball League. During the summer months he returned to New England where he enjoyed camping and became a NASCAR fan.
Predeceased thirty-five years ago by his beloved wife, "Lucille", he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son John E. Duston of Waterboro, Maine, his daughter Mary Hodgkins and her husband Jeffrey of Wells, Maine, two grandchildren, Duston Hodgkins, and Jeanette Hodgkins, two great-grandchildren, his brother, Gerald Duston and his wife Anne of Nashua, NH, two sisters, Joyce Poole of Florida and Shirley Meader of South Dakota, two sisters-in-law, Rita Duston and Evie Duston, his loving companion of thirty-two years Roslyn Maguire of Salisbury, MA and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by brothers Robert, Donald, Ernie, Norman and Albert Duston and a sister Dorthoy Taylor.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 11:30 in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow.
