Obituary

Haverhill: Richard E. "Dickie" Wansker, 60, of the Ayers Village section of Haverhill, died May 25, 2017 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, son of Richard J. Wansker and the late Margaret (Hadley) Wansker, he was raised and educated on the North Shore and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in 1975.

Richard worked as a machine setter at A T & T Technologies and Lucent Technologies for fifteen years and was a member of the Communication Workers of America, AFL-CIO Local 1365.

An avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed boating, golf, and gardening. He especially enjoyed trips to Jupiter, Florida to visit his cousins, Merritt and Peter Cornwell and was a devoted grandfather.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-two years, Maria (Descheneau) Wansker, three stepsons, Joseph E. White of Haverhill, Christopher E. White of Methuen, and Michael A. White and his wife Katelyn of Salem, NH, a step-daughter Becky Muirhead and her husband Philip of Haverhill, his father Richard J. Wansker of Newburyport, two sisters, Pamela J. Wansker and her husband Jim Kirsh of Falmouth, Maine, and Sally Magner and her husband Joseph of Methuen, a step brother Charles Goodhue of Connecticut, and a step sister Sara Cropper of Texas, three grandchildren, Dakota Muirhead, Aiden White and Sophia White, an aunt and an uncle, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill, MA. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to C.O.P. Amputee Association, Inc. P.O. Box 304, Wenham, MA or to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Rd. # 200, Framingham, MA.
