Richard D. Falwell "Captn. Ginger", 68 of Hampstead, passed away on April 11, 2015 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by his family.
Richard was born on October 24, 1946 in Medford, MA the son of Robert and Mary (Phillips) Falwell. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School Class of 1964.
Dick owned and operated Janco International Inc. in Haverhill for over 40 years. He was an exporter of textiles, and had the opportunity to see and travel all over the world.
One of Richie's passions was boating. Whether it was on a lake or the ocean, Richie loved being at the helm or reeling in the ones that didn't get away. He earned his Captain's license and proudly sat at the helm of his vessel, appropriately named "Full House" out of Gloucester, MA.
If Richie wasn't at the helm, he was in the galley. Whether making specials for his children or feasts for the holidays, he would make sure both the food and the memories were unforgettably delicious. In his early years, he enjoyed spending his summers playing horseshoes at Long Lake and winter's downhill skiing at Evergreen Valley.
Richard leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Diane, three beautiful daughters, Kerry, Brenda and Laurie and a wonderful son, Rich. He was a father figure to his younger brothers, his step children; Kim, John & Scott and so many others. He is survived by his mother, Mary, and four brothers, Robert, Wray, Gary and Brian. He leaves us with 20 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren to continue his legacy.
Family and friends are invited to bid farewell to Captn. Ginger on his final voyage on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Burial will take place later in the spring in Hampstead, NH.
