Amesbury, MA: Rian D. McFadden, 40, of Amesbury, passed away on October 13, 2019 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA.

Born in Haverhill, MA, he was the son of the late Dennis W. McFadden and Gail S. Pierce. Rian graduated from Pentucket Regional High School with the Class of 1997, and East Carolina University with the Class of 2002, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. He returned to Massachusetts after college and began working in sales, finding his niche in software sales.

Rian loved the outdoors and found great joy bringing his children to his favorite state parks, including Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, as well as Salisbury and Plum Island State Parks. He loved his family very much, looking forward to annual trips to Ogunquit, Maine and spending time together watching sports like football. Rian had a unique sense of humor, spreading laughter to everyone around him. He also enjoyed ice fishing as a young boy and golfing in his adult years.

Rian will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted mother Gail Pierce, of Amesbury, MA, his children Griffin and Gemma McFadden and his former wife Lindsay (DiVincenzo) McFadden of Groveland, MA,  brothers Brandon McFadden and his wife Heather, of Methuen, MA, Justin McFadden and his wife Stacy, of Tewksbury, MA, sister Erin Scanlon and her husband Josh, of Methuen, MA, nephews Matthew, Tyler, Devin, and Caden, nieces Hailey, Ashley, Laila, and Brielle, grandmother Gwen McFadden, of Haverhill, MA, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his father Dennis W. McFadden, as well as his maternal grandparents Charles and Ida Pierce, and paternal grandfather, Thomas McFadden.

Services will be private. His family kindly requests a donation be made in Rian's memory to The Salvation Army.
