IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rene "Renny"
Adler
June 26, 1946 – July 11, 2024
Atkinson: Rene "Renny" Adler of Atkinson, New Hampshire peacefully entered into his eternal rest on July 11, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Adler, whom he called "Marty"; son Todd Adler and his wife Erika and grandchildren Grant, Miranda, Lindsey, Carter, and Jaxson; son Timothy Adler and his wife Rachel and grandchildren Joshua, Ashley, and Cora; his brother Chuck Clawson of Clearwater, Florida; his brother Paul Adler of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania and many other siblings; his niece Melody Edmiston and husband Dave of Altoona, Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved "Uncle Renny".
Renny was born and raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He spent his high school summers working at his father's meat packing plant in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State University and became a "tried and true", blue and white fan cheering on the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium. He was so proud that his sons graduated from Penn State and that his granddaughter Miranda will graduate from Penn State this December 2024 as a third generation Nittany Lion.
Renny graduated in 1969 and immediately began his career with AT&T, later Lucent Technologies, now Nokia. In his role as a project manager he handled a myriad of details every day on the various projects he managed. A major project for Renny early in his career was the Safeguard Program, an anti-ballistic missile system, a project that required the government's highest security clearance level. Through Renny's early career he and Marty moved across the country relocating from New Jersey to North Dakota to North Carolina and eventually settling in New Hampshire. Later Renny had the opportunity to travel extensively across the U.S. and Europe with Marty at his side. He retired from Lucent in 2001 after 33 years.
In 1969 Renny married the love of his life Marty, sharing 55 years of deep love, memories, and serving the Lord together. Renny (and Marty) extended hospitality to many people over the years, inviting them into their home for times of food and fellowship. Renny enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hiking, traveling, and photography and was able to share many of these experiences with his sons and their families. "Pop-Pop" became a very special person in the lives of his eight grandchildren.
Renny's faith was an integral part of his life. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in his life. In various churches Renny served as a deacon, youth group leader, Sunday School superintendent, men's Sunday school teacher, and Bible study leader at Lucent. He loved studying God's Word and sharing it with others.
His family's greatest desire is to uphold his legacy of selflessly serving the Lord and others. He will be deeply missed by many.
Renny's funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road, Derry NH. Refreshments will be served in Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. in Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, NH.
