Obituary

Atkinson, NH: Rena M. (Quesnel) Scanlon, 88, a former resident of Atkinson for over thirty years, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford, NH.

Born in Shoreham, Vermont, daughter of the late Leo and Evelyn (Murray) Quesnel, she received her High School Diploma before attending the Lawrence General School of Nursing.  She was employed for several years as a Certified Nursing Assistant by Merrimack Valley Home Health VNA. A resident of Danville for fifteen years before returning to Atkinson several years ago, she also worked as a crossing guard at Atkinson Academy.

Mrs. Scanlon was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish at Holy Angels Church in Plaistow and was a volunteer driver for the Meals-On- Wheels Program at the Vic Geary Center. She also enjoyed playing Keno, dining out and trips to the beach.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn J. and Patricia Scanlon of Londonderry, NH, and Gifford J. Scanlon of Nashua, NH, a brother and sister-in-law, Armand and Donna Quesnel of Ludlow, MA, five grandchildren, Christopher Scanlon, Kayla Scanlon, Paige Scanlon, Grace Scanlon, and Izabel Scanlon, and "her love" Ken Lundgren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Gregory J. Scanlon in 1998 and her brother, Gerald Quesnel.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, September 13, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the The Meals-On-Wheels Program at the Vic Geary Center, Plaistow.
