Raymond Joseph “Ray” Viglione, 89, of East Kingston, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 29, 2026, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Ray was the beloved son of the late Nicholas A. and Susie (LaProva) Viglione. He grew up in Methuen and graduated from Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1958. Deeply committed to vocational education, he later volunteered for many years on the board of Whittier Vocational Technical High School. A talented clarinetist in his youth, Ray played in a local band and maintained a lifelong love of marching bands and big band music.

Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for seven years, stationed at Camp Drum and Fort Belvoir. He attained the rank of SP5 and was honorably discharged in 1963.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Ray’s greatest joy was his family. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and activities, and cherished time spent playing games, tending to his garden, and working on model trains. A faithful Roman Catholic, Ray served more than fifty years as an usher at St. Luke the Evangelist Parish (Holy Angels) in Plaistow and volunteered in many other roles. His strong faith sustained him throughout his life, especially during his later health challenges.

Ambitious, hardworking, and deeply dedicated, Ray founded KAV Machine Company, Inc. in 1970, which he operated for 43 years alongside his wife Beverley. Known throughout the industry for exceptional precision machining, Ray built a team of up to fifteen employees and cultivated lasting relationships with customers and employees based on quality workmanship and personal integrity.

Ray and Beverley shared a love of travel and adventure, journeying together to Egypt, Italy, Hawaii, South America, and many destinations across the United States and Europe. He also volunteered as a videographer for the towns of Atkinson and Plaistow, documenting meetings and community events. Ray was a lifelong enthusiast of vintage American cars. He had a remarkable ability to conceptualize, problem-solve, and fix nearly anything. Whether working in his yard or tackling a new project, he approached everything with enthusiasm and care.

Ray lived a life defined by loyalty, generosity, humility, and genuine kindness. He was successful both professionally and personally, instilling a strong work ethic in those around him and embodying respect, compassion, and the belief in paying it forward.

In 2012, Ray received a lung transplant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston—a gift of life for which he and his family are forever grateful. They extend their heartfelt appreciation to the extraordinary doctors, nurses, and staff of the lung transplant team at Brigham and Women’s whose exceptional care meant so much to Ray. His family encourages others to consider the life-changing impact of organ donation.

Raymond is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his adoring wife of nearly sixty-nine years, Beverley A. (Bourdelais) Viglione; his son, Kevin A. Viglione of Florida; his cherished daughters, Karen A. Viglione-Kraus of San Diego, California, Kimberly A. Viglione of Marietta, Georgia, and Kathleen A. Sheehan and her husband, John, of Newton, New Hampshire; and his treasured grandchildren, Megan E. Sheehan and Casey B. Sheehan. He is also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews and was pre-deceased by his sister Annette R. (Viglione) D’Agata.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, New Hampshire. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 7, at 10:00 AM at Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish at Holy Angels Church, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow. Interment will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery, 22 East Road, Plaistow.
