Michel
August 23, 1940 – January 8, 2022
Methuen, MA: Raymond C. Michel, 81, of Methuen, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on January 8, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born in Laconia, NH, son of the late Conrad and Lillian (Lapierre) Michel. He later moved with his family to Haverhill, Massachusetts and attended Saint Joseph Grammar School. He graduated from Haverhill High School and later received his Associates Degree in Business from Merrimack College. A veteran of the Vietnam Era, Ray served proudly as a Specialist 5 in the United States Army from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1965 and was recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.
Ray was employed for thirty-five years at Raytheon and was an active and devout member of All Saint Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish. He was a longtime resident of Haverhill until moving to Methuen fourteen years ago where he thoroughly enjoyed living in his home on Forrest Lake. He and his wife Jeanne also enjoyed spending time at their winter home in Cape Coral, Florida.
Ray was a warm-hearted person who always offered a kind or encouraging word. He dedicated his life to his family and treasured time with his grandchildren, playing board games and cards, and he was a constant presence at their sporting and school events.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-six years and love of his life, Jeanne (Brunelle) Michel, four loving children including two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Tom Spaulding of Cornish, NH and Laurie and Stephen Kakides of Haverhill, a son Mark Michel and his fiancée, Linda Meucci of Plaistow and a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lisa Michel of Haverhill, eight grandchildren, Ashley Derman, Courtney Derman, Jeffrey Derman, Joshua Spaulding, Jessica Michel, Carly Michel, Matthew Michel and Alyssa Michel and a great grand-daughter, Emma Swift, a sister, Anne Merrill of Manchester, NH and a brother-in-law Richard Brunelle and his wife Catherine and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
