Born and raised in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Leona (Patten) Marston. He worked for the local shoe industry and was known to many generations of St. Joseph School children, as well as many of the families at St. Joseph's Parish, as the long time manager of St. Joseph's Bowling Lanes, Haverhill, as well as the coordinator of several of their bowling leagues.
He was a member of All Saints Parish, Haverhill, and the former St. Joseph Parish, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Massachusetts Bowlers' Associaton. Mr. Marston was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lucille A. (Morency) Marston; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Mary Marston of Dover, NH and Mark F. Marston of Hudson, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy A. and Joseph Colella of Haverhill, MA and Karen R. and Dan Croteau of Berwick, ME; three brothers, Walter Marston of Atkinson, NH, Edward Marston of North Carolina and Richard Marston of Amesbury; seven grandchildren, Christopher Marston and his wife, Tina, Jennifer Paradise and her husband, Jason, Keith Marston and his wife, Jennifer, Rachael Loprinze and her husband, Chris, Stacey Marston, Katie Colella and Kelly Randall; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Haverhill, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill. The family will receive relatives and friends at a reception in All Saints Church hall following the burial.
