Dufresne

Haverhill: Raymond Louis Dufresne, 97, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died July 10, 2025, at Holy Family/ Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. Son of the late Raymond Dufresne and Marian (Demeris) Dufresne, he was also the step-son of the late Cecile Clevesy.
Ray attended local schools and was a member of the Haverhill Trade School Class of 1945. He was educated as an electrician and was licensed as a Journeyman at the age of eighteen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War Two from March of 1946 until September of 1947 and was later recalled for service during the Korean Conflict from 1948 until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant in 1951. He was a recipient of the World War Two Victor Medal, The Korean Service Medal with One Bronze Service Star, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Ray was employed as an electrician at Raytheon in Waltham and the "Andovers" and retired at the age of sixty-two.
A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill, Ray was an avid gardener and enjoyed working around his home. For many years he spent wonderful times traveling throughout the United States and Canada in his R.V. He also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and was a lunchtime volunteer at the Haverhill Senior Center.
Predeceased in December of 2024 by his loving and devoted wife Helen (Finnigan) Dufresne, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four sons, Raymond J. Dufresne and his wife Linda of Atkinson, NH, Robert J. Dufresne and his wife Michele of St. Augustine, FL, Richard J. Dufresne of Berlin, NH, and David W. Dufresne and his wife, Debra of Hampstead, a sister Jeannette Marquis, of Merrimac, twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
