Atkinson, NH: Priscilla C. (Cyr) Martin, 101, of Brentwood and a former longtime resident of Atkinson, died December 30, 2021 at Rockingham County Nursing Home.
Born in Rumford, Maine, daughter of the late Francis and Alma (Duguay) Cyr, she was raised in Rumford and attended local schools before moving to Waterville and Portland, Maine as a child. She relocated as a young adult to the Massachusetts area, first in the Boston area, Peabody and Danvers, before settling in Groveland for several years. She was employed as a tester at Western Electric Co. of North Andover, retiring with fourteen years of service.
A resident of Plaistow, NH for several years before moving to Sandown and Nottingham, she was a member of Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, Local 1365 of the Communication Workers of America and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling at Academy Lanes in Bradford, and golfing at Garrison's Golf Course in Haverhill, where she scored a hole-in-one. She also enjoyed Ballroom Dancing, sewing, traveling to Europe and throughout the United States. She was always an avid reader and enjoyed exercising every day.
Predeceased in 1986 by her husband of forty-five years, and later by her sons Dennis A. Martin and Richard J. Martin, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian L. and Ann Martin of Bonita Springs, FL, and Donald F. and Lois Martin of Wells, ME, two daughters and sons-in-law, Gale T Martin-Metzler and John Metzler of Escondito, CA and Joanne M. and Bill Moody of Atkinson, a daughter-in-law Victoria Martin of Naples, FL, thirteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday morning, January 7, 2022 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
