Plaistow, NH: Phyllis M. (Redmond) Rubner, 94, a resident of Plaistow for the last thirty-three years, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newton, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Maguire) Redmond, she was raised and educated in Malden, and was a member of the Malden High School Class of 1947.
A former longtime resident of Stoneham, MA, before moving to Plaistow in 1990, Phyllis was employed by the John Hancock Life insurance Co. in Boston. She was a former member of Saint Patrick's Parish of Stoneham and volunteered her time in the schools where her children were attending. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis enjoyed traveling across New England, especially to the mountains and the coast.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband John B. Rubner, Jr, three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Michael and Barbara Rubner of Winthrop, ME, Steven and Chris Rubner of Concord, MA, and Brian and Brooke Rubner of Goffstown, NH, two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Tom Hoctor of Stoneham, MA and Linda and Paul Kelly of Newburyport, MA; a sister Florence Sorrentino of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, nine grandchildren, Danielle, Greggory, Eric, Lindsey, Tiffany, Katrina, Cody, Ethan, and Rosalie; seven great-grandchildren, Teddy, Max, Patrick, Andrew, Emma, Grayson and Avery; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John B. Rubner,III, and two brothers, Daniel Redmond and Herbert Miller.
