Kingston, NH: Phyllis L. (Whitney) Crowell, 87, a resident of Kingston for most of her life, died peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at her home and surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Atkinson, daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Nason) Whitney, she was raised and educated in Kingston and graduated from the former Sanborn Seminary in 1951. She was employed as a coil-winder for twenty-nine years at Western Electric Co and A T & T Technologies until her retirement. She was a member of the Newton Junction Baptist Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America and a former member of the Kingston Congregational Church.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she enjoyed taking care of her family and hosting Bible study groups in her home and assisting her late husband, Pastor Albert O. Crowell, Jr. with his pastoral duties.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son David M. Crowell of Kingston, twin daughters, Deborrah Hawes of Plaistow, and Dianne Maddox of Raymond, NH, two brothers, William D. Whitney of Barrington, NH and Robert W. Whitney of Kingston, two grandsons, Shon Hawes of Kingsland, Georgia and Zachary Maddox of Raymond, NH, a great-grandson, Jacob A. Hawes of Westchester, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday morning, March 7, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Pinegrove Cemetery, Kingston.
