Plaistow, NH:Phyllis M. (Loring) (Tarbox) Bowen, 87, a longtime resident of Plaistow, NH, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.
Born in Cambridge, MA, daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Dusseault) Loring, she moved to Haverhill as a child.She attended Pollard School in Plaistow, NH, Haverhill High School, graduating with the Class of 1943 and MacIntosh Business School.She worked as a Bookkeeper for B & M Railroad and the Andover House of Carpets and worked for the Internal Revenue Service.
A member of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Plaistow, NH, she was a founder and a former member of the Plaistow Historical Society and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Carl Davis Post.Mrs. Bowen was a Cub Scout den mother in her early years and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
The wife of Richard J. Bowen, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Alan D. Bowen of Plaistow, NH, John P. "Jack"'and Denise Bowen of Kingston, NH and Christopher C. and Lea Bowen of Plaistow, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin J. and Jorge Bracero of Manchester, NH; a brother, Robert Loring of Orlando, Fl; eleven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, from 5 - 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Route 121A), Plaistow, NH.Her funeral will begin on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 9 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Angels Church, Plaistow, NH.Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow, NH.
