Atkinson, NH: Phillip R. Goyette, 92, a resident of Atkinson for the last seven years, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Derry.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late Wilfred E. and Rosanna (Ivons) Goyette, he attended local schools including the former Haverhill Trade School, and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Goyette served as an Airman First Class and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal when he was honorably discharged in 1953.
He was employed as a layout operator at Western Electric Co. and A T & T Technologies for thirty-six years until his retirement and was a member of the Communication Workers of America and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
A resident of Hampstead for sixteen years before moving to Atkinson in 2013, he was a member of Saint Anne's Parish, and a former resident of Plaistow for thirty-nine years. Devoted to his family, Mr. Goyette most enjoyed family gatherings, and was an avid New England Patriots fan. He also was accomplished at cooking, gardening and rug hooking.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of sixty-eight years, Ursula B. (Fournier) Goyette, two sons; Paul R. Goyette and partner Jons of Kelseyville , CA, and Kevin Goyette and his wife Kim of Hampstead; five daughters, Anne Ayotte and her husband Gerard of Rochester, NH, Kathy Fitzgerald and her husband Aaron of Pembroke, NH, Joan Amirault and her husband Mark of Haverhill, MA, Nancy Acquaviva of Arundel, ME, and Donna Tatro and her husband Kenny of Moultonborough, NH, sixteen grandchildren; Nathan, Michele and Greg Ayotte, Ryan, Meghan, Andrew and Lindsey Fitzgerald, Nicole Goyette, Danielle Amirault, Brianna Crocker, Alysson and Caden Acquaviva, Alex and Brittany Goyette and Jillian and Olivia Tatro, four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Evelyn and Liam Fitzgerald and Emerson Crocker, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Ernest Goyette, and a sister Lillian Nichols.
A private family Funeral Mass for Mr. Goyette will be offered on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Saint Anne's Church in Hampstead and can be viewed by live stream at 12 o'clock p.m. via the link: HTTPS://saintannechurchnh.org/livestream .
