Obituary

Philip B. Twombly, age 72, of Plaistow, NH died unexpectedly Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home. He was the son of the late Paul and Mae (Knox) Twombly.

Phil was a graduate of Haverhill High school. He worked at Merrimack Valley Tire in Haverhill, MA. He later worked at National Grid for many years. Philip loved to cook whether it be for Thanksgiving or another occasion. He enjoyed feeding people. Philip was a member of the (S.A.L) Sons of the American Legion, where he enjoyed spending time with friends. He loved music and played a mean air guitar. Led Zeppelin and The Doors were among his favorites. Another favorite was vacationing in beautiful Aruba, he looked forward to going every year. Philip enjoyed casinos and playing cards. You could always find him enjoying a Miller High Life (His little lady). He was the kind of father that even when you may have done wrong, he still showed unconditional love. Philip was the kind of man that was always there when you needed him. He fought hard and he will be continuously loved and missed tremendously by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his longtime love Laurie Dovey of Plaistow, NH, his daughter Melissa Twombly and her partner Haven Newsome of Haverhill, MA, his three grandchildren Tyler, Nevaeh, and Shalayah, his great grandson T.J., and his brother Paul Twombly and his wife Phylliss of Haverhill, MA. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother William Twombly.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 5pm – 7pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main Street Plaistow, NH. His funeral service and interment will be held privately.
