Obituary

Loving husband & father, Peter Paul Taraborelli, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2024 at the age of 101 from an ongoing illness, surrounded by family.

Peter was born August 30, 1922 in Llanerch, PA and attended West Catholic High School in Philadelphia graduating in 1942, where in addition to his studies he enjoyed and excelled in Track, Golf and Boxing.

Proudly serving in WWII as a Corporal in the U.S. Army, Company D 155 th Infantry 31 st Division, Peter was stationed in the Philippines including New Guinea and Mindanao. He received three prestigious Bronze Stars awarded for heroic and meritorious achievement of service and remained in touch with his fellow soldiers through the Dixie Division reunion group which met many times near their training camp in Hattiesburg, MS.

On January 26,1952 Peter married Olinda Trocate from Vinhedo, Brazil. They lived in Havertown, PA, later moving to Newtown Square, PA. Along with his brothers, Peter was a valued member of the family construction business. He later transitioned to working in shipping and receiving until his retirement. Peter and Olinda enjoyed living in diverse locations such as the Pocono Mountains, Las Cruces, NM; Spring Hill, FL, Orlando, FL, and eventually residing with their son and caregiver, Mark, in New Hampshire.

In addition to being a dedicated lifelong member of the Catholic Church, Peter gave selflessly of his time by helping with fundraising events and many other activities including the Catholic War Veterans. He served a term as Commander at CWV Father Hickey Post in Manoa, PA and was awarded Man of the Year in 1975. A strong man of his faith, he was devoted to many saints, especially St. Padre Pio.

Predeceased by his parents Ciriaco Jerome Taraborelli & Maria Catarina Gallo; his siblings - Joseph, Dominic, Conchetta Alimonti, Adele Camplone, Lucy Verna and George. Survived by loving wife of 71 years, Olinda, as well as children; Loretta Mary (Engler) of Fernandina Beach, FL; Peter Paul, Jr. of DeLeon Springs, FL; Mark Anthony of Atkinson, NH; and grandchildren Skyler & Connor.

Peter will be deeply missed by all those who knew him for his candor, kindness, selflessness, humor, fun-loving disposition; and even his own rendition of "Tiny Bubbles."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday January 26, 2024, at 9 AM at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Rd. Plaistow, NH.

Burial will follow at 12 PM at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
