Peter D. Quimby, 72, of Plaistow, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday evening, August 2, 2023. Born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Peter was the son of the late Albert and Nellie (Stachulski) Quimby and was raised in the Bradford Section of Haverhill, Massachusetts. As a young man, he was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish, Bradford.

A member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1969, he attended Northern Essex Community College and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College, North Andover. Peter was employed for forty years by the Raytheon Company, and retired in 2011 as a Controller in their Middle East Systems Division. He worked in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 1977 until 1984 and later from 1994 until his retirement in 2011. As an American living abroad, Peter and his wife indulged their shared passion for travel; Peter never missed an opportunity to research the history and culture of every place they visited.

A totally devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, Peter spent the past twelve years spending every possible moment with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Peter was a phenomenal genealogist and lifelong learner who enjoyed hiking, fishing, boating, and camping. He led an active civic life and volunteered as a Special Olympics soccer coach, a Boy Scout leader and, most recently, a ballot clerk for the Town of Plaistow. Peter was a 'whiz' at all variety of word puzzles and number games, and really enjoyed persevering through a challenging puzzle.

Peter will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Kathleen T. (Tarzia) Quimby, a daughter and son-in-law, Erin M. and Brett Twombly, of Conway, NH, two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel A. and Deanna Quimby, of Plaistow, and Sean R. and Heather Quimby, of Plaistow; a niece, Rebecca L. Quimby of Goffstown, NH; six grandchildren who adored their 'Bumpy': Isabelle, Aidan, Katherine, Brooke, Charlotte and Jack; a brother, J. Robert Quimby of Florida, a sister Kathleen A. Quimby of Haverhill, MA, one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peter's Celebration of Life to be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Wednesday at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Sacred Hearts Church, South Main Street, Bradford.
