IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline M.
Daigle
December 31, 1931 – December 1, 2024
Salem, NH: Pauline M Daigle passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, while in Memory Care at Residence of Salem Woods, surrounded by all her family. Pauline was just shy of ninety-three years old.
Pauline was born in Van Buren, Maine to Omer and Marguerite (King) Dumont. The family ran a potato farm in Cyr Plantation. Pauline was an integral part of the family farm, and she was the youngest girl of thirteen children. She met her husband Reed while he was working on the farm. They fell in love, married in 1953 and settled in Methuen to raise their family. Reed and Pauline enjoyed fifty-two years of marriage.
Family was always a priority to Pauline. She stayed home, raised her children and when they were all off to school, she and her husband opened a welding business, New England Tank of Lawrence. They ran that until their retirement in 1982. The following years consisted of cross-country travel and winters in Florida. After Reed passed, Pauline continued to go to Florida, made many friends and met many people from Maine while down there and continued these friendships for many years to come.
Pauline loved spending time in the kitchen. Her interests included recipe collecting and baking. She enjoyed entertaining and making large meals for gatherings of family and friends. Her homemade pies were family famous. Pauline's favorite holiday was Christmas, and perhaps her greatest strength was giving. She loved giving her time, her help, her love and her energy wherever it was needed. Canasta was a favorite card game of hers. She had a wonderful sense of humor, often with sarcasm, and enjoyed having a good laugh more than anything. Her smile lit up the room.
Predeceased in 2005 by her devoted husband, J. Reed Daigle, and in 2014 by her daughter, Paula Daigle, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Glenn Daigle, of Methuen, Bruce and Bernadette Daigle of Hudson, NH and Shawn and Carrie Daigle of Salem, NH, two daughters and a son-in-law, Kim and Rand Kimball of Sandown and Pam Daigle of Lowell; a brother, Wilfred Dumont of Naples, FL; seven grandchildren, Christopher Daigle and Lacie Chase of Methuen, MA, Matthew Daigle of Boston, Rachel Kimball of Danville, Amanda Daigle of Hudson, NH, Ryan Daigle and Keisha Decelle of Merrimack, NH, Alex Daigle and Maddi Martin of Boston, and Sam Daigle of Salem, NH; three great grandchildren, Bobby Daigle, Cohan Daigle and Kason Decelle; and several nieces and nephews.
