Haverhill: Paula L. (Hill) Nichols, 73, a longtime resident of Haverhill and a retired elementary school teacher for the Haverhill Public Schools, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Boston Medical Center.

Born in Boston, daughter of the late Albert and Sylvia (Maffeo) Hill, she was raised and educated in Lexington, and was member of the Lexington High School Class of 1964. She later received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Art History from Emmanuel College in Boston. Mrs. Nichols was an elementary school teacher for grades two and four with a twenty-two year career at the Wood School and Knipe School in Bradford until her retirement.

A member of Saint James Parish of Haverhill, she was a proud and supportive grandmother to her two grandchildren and was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed antiquing, tending her flower gardens, taking cruises and traveling.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty years, David E. Nichols, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Andrea Nichols of Haverhill, a son, Mark A. Nichols of Burlington, MA, two grandchildren, Jackson T. Nichols and Harrison J. Nichols, a sister and brother-in-law Susan M. and David Potter of Jacksonville, NC, two nieces Erica and Meghan Potter and several cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, under the Commonwealth of Massachusetts guidelines for social distancing and the wearing of masks. Her funeral will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Saint James Church, Winter St., Haverhill.
