Plaistow, NH: Paul D. Surette, 79, of Plaistow, NH and formerly of Haverhill, MA and Lynn, MA, died on February 16, 2018 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA.
Born and raised in Lynn, MA, the son of the late Clifford and Eliza (D'Entremont) Surette, he attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the Class of 1958 where he earned his letter in track. He served in the Army National Guard as a Private from 1959 to 1964 and later worked as a Supervisor at the West Lynn Creamery in Lynn, MA until his retirement.
Mr. Surette was a member of the Rockingham Church in Plaistow, NH where he was a member of the Men's Veterans Club, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 70 in Lynn, MA and a member of the Vic Geary Center in Plaistow and the Seniors Committee for the Town of Plaistow. He bowled on various leagues at both Pilgrim Lanes and Academy Lanes in Haverhill, MA.
He enjoyed golfing with the Monday morning men's league at the Apple Hill Golf Club in East Kingston, NH and loved to paint with oils and watercolors, excelling in portraits.
The husband of the late Jean (LeBlanc) Surette, who died on February 21, 2013, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Clarene J. and Michael Taylor of Plaistow, NH, Sonya A. and Ron Goss of Salem, NH and Erica J. and Eric Olsen of Sandown, NH; two brothers, Daniel Surette and Calvin Surette, both of Florida, two sisters, Betty Briscoe and her husband, Roy of Florida and Marilyn Kimball of Peabody, MA; seven grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Amanda (Taylor) Langlois, Samantha Olsen, Colleen Olsen, Matthew Olsen, Nate Olsen and Bridget Surrette and one great granddaughter, Olivia Langlois, who was the love of his life. He was predeceased by his son, Kirk Surette, two brothers, Douglas Surette and Clifton Surette and a sister, Ann Wise.
Relatives and friends may attend Paul's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, from 5 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 10 AM in the funeral home. A private burial service will take place at a later date.
