Hampstead, NH: Paul J. Kelly, 81, a resident of Hampstead for the last twenty-one years, died peacefully, surrounded by his family at home on Friday, November 28, 2025. Paul was born, raised and educated in Melrose, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Edward and Barbara (Huff) Kelly. He was a member of the Melrose High School Class of 1962 and enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1964.

A Vietnam War veteran, Paul served for six years as an Interior Communications Electrician and served aboard the USS Independence, the USS Randolph and the USS Yorktown. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and was recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

An eighteen-year resident of Burlington, MA, where he built his home, Paul was employed as an engineer by New England Telephone and Telegraph and later retired from Verizon after thirty-three years of service. A resident of Atkinson before moving to Hampstead, Paul was an avid reader and enjoyed golf, country music, and watching football and hockey. He enjoyed traveling across the United States and taking cruises with friends and family. He was a member of the Carl Davis Post #34 of the American Legion, Plaistow and the VFW and the Wilbur M. Comeau Post #4 of the American Legion, Haverhill, MA.

Paul will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of fifty years, Dorothy T "Dotty" (DeVeer) Kelly, a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen A. and John Biagiotti, of Billerica, MA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel M. Kelly in 2011 and his brother, Edward Kelly, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Military honors rendered by the U.S. Navy will follow at 4:15 at the funeral home.
