Paul G.
Florent
February 20, 1964 – February 21, 2021
Nashua, NH: Paul G. Florent, 57, of Nashua, NH and formerly of Haverhill, MA, died February 21, 2021 from complications of COVID-19.
Paul was born in Methuen, MA on February 20, 1964 to the late George A. and Elaine R. Florent. He attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1982, where he played basketball. He lived and worked in the Tampa, FL area for many years before he returned home to assist in caring for his parents in their final years, enabling them to remain in their home. Most recently, he worked for Nouria Energy Corporation, managing a location in Nashua where he was beloved by his colleagues.
Easygoing and nurturing like his mother, with whom he shared a birthday and a special bond, Paul's positive attitude and hearty laugh lifted everyone around him. He had no care for material possessions, and instead treasured relationships, building a supportive, eclectic group of friends near and far. On a solo road trip across the U.S. before he moved to Florida, Paul visited the people and places he valued deeply. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures: warm weather, a Florent family gathering, a good cigar, or a round of golf. An avid and knowledgeable sports fan, he took great joy in the championships won by his favorite teams in the last two decades.
Paul is survived by his nine siblings: Donna Demers of Haverhill, Peter Florent and his wife Susan of Haverhill, Michael Florent and his wife Anne Marie of Newburyport, Theresa Romotsky and her husband Jerry of Salisbury, Denise Hamel and her husband Wally of Durham, NH, Anne Marie Mede of Haverhill, Joseph Florent and his wife Dee of Haverhill, Mary Harriman and her husband Roger of Haverhill, and Michele Perillo and her husband Randy of Stoneham. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by his lifelong friend, Michael Peterson of Wesley Chapel, FL, his wife, Jill, and their daughters Kennedy and Neely, who were like a second family to Paul. Paul's family wishes to thank the ICU staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for their exceptional care at the end of his life.
Donations in his memory may be made to a local food pantry of your choice to assist those also suffering the impacts of the pandemic. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1 P.M. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill, MA. A private family burial service in Saint Joseph Cemetery will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.
