Fremont, NH: Paul O. Cameron, 73, of Fremont and a former longtime resident of Atkinson, died peacefully at his home on May 24, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness and a twenty-five year battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, son of the late Frank and Barbara (Everett) Cameron, he was raised and educated in Peabody, graduating from Peabody High School with the Class of 1966. He served as a Specialist-4 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was as a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and was rated as an expert with the M 14.
Paul was employed at Osram/Sylvania of Danvers for twenty-five years and also later at IBIS Technologies of Beverly.
A former eighteen year resident of Atkinson, before moving to Fremont in 2007, he was an avid reader and voraciously completed several newspapers every day as well as a countless number of novels over the years. He enjoyed listening to Jazz as well as watching NFL games and the Boston Red Sox and was a longtime faithful fan of the Boston College Eagles Football Team. A huge trivia buff, Paul and his wife, Ellen enjoyed traveling, and especially taking cruises where they could enjoy taking part in onboard trivia contests.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of forty-four years, Ellen M. (Vaillancourt) Cameron, a daughter and son-in-law Kimberly D. and Bill Berard of Fremont, NH, two grandchildren, Sydney Berard and Seth Berard, of Fremont, and brothers Brian Cameron of New Hampshire, and Peter Cameron. He was predeceased by two brothers Richard Cameron and Bruce Cameron.
Relatives and friends are invited to Paul's Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Military Honors will be rendered immediately following by the U.S. Army in the Veterans Memorial Plaza of the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to The Michael J.
