Patricia L. (Akerson) King, age 77, of Atkinson, NH passed away on Sunday March 3rd, 2024 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel M. King III with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

She was born in Portland, Maine on May 18, 1946 was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Beatrice (McNinch) Akerson.

Patricia was raised and educated in Plaistow, NH and was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, NH, Class of 1963. She was very active and enjoyed playing racquetball and exercising with her friends at the Haverhill YMCA. After starting a family, Patricia started working in Plaistow as a seamstress. She then started working as an assistant administrator at Home Health VNA in Haverhill, Ma. For 8 years. In 2000, Patricia moved to a new position as head administrator and insurance specialist for the Quitting Time Program as part of Hampstead Hospital, and worked there happily until her retirement in 2009.

She is survived by her son Timothy King and his wife Beth of Danbury, CT, her niece Bethany Ackerson of Windham, NH, her nephews Jason Ackerson of Sudbury, MA., and Michael Ackerson of Londonderry, NH; her sister-in-law Kimberly Ackerson of Windham, NH; predeceased relatives include her older brothers Richard Ackerson, who passed in 2001, and Robert Ackerson, who passed in 2023.

Funeral services and interment were held privately.
