Hampstead, NH: Ovidio "Ovie" Giust, 82, of Hampstead, NH died on June 22, 2014 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH after being stricken at his home.
Born in Vigonovo, Italy, son of the late Giovanni and Amabile (Ragagnin) Giust, he immigrated to the United States with his twin sister at the age of 16. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Giust attended Franklin Technical Institute in Boston, where was the Valedictorian and Class President. He was employed as an electrical engineer for Bell Laboratories for thirty-five years until his retirement.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and working on his cabin in Rangeley Plantation, Maine.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Claudia S. (Seufert) Giust, his two sons and daughters-in-law, John E. and Carolyn Giust of San Diego, CA, and Gary K. Giust and his wife Maggie Qian, of Santa Clara, CA, a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda J. Giust and her husband Andrew Buinicky of Newmarket, NH, a brother Lino Giust of Roslindale, MA, a twin sister, Aldina Vicario of Franklin, MA, a sister Nives Arena of Lexington, MA, four grandchildren, Alexandra Buinicky, Morgan Buinicky, Peter Giust, and Anneka Giust, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
