Devoted and loving wife and mother, Olinda Taraborelli, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024 at the age of 90 after an ongoing illness, surrounded by family.
Olinda was born May 28, 1934 in Sao Joao Da Boa Vista, Brazil and was the youngest of 7 siblings. She met her loving husband, Peter, and they married in Brazil on January 26, 1952 and she then immigrated to the United States. Peter and Olinda lived in Havertown, PA and then moved to Newtown Square, PA for many years where Olinda worked as a home care aide & senior companion along with being a devoted homemaker raising three children.
After retirement, Olinda & Peter moved to warmer climates and enjoyed time in Las Cruces, NM; Spring Hill, FL; and Orlando, FL. They loved being snowbirds and spent summers in New Hampshire where they eventually moved full time to be with their youngest son and caregiver.
Through the years, Olinda and her husband stayed involved in many charitable organizations and dedicated countless hours of volunteerism to support those in need including Day Star Life Center and Saint Martin de Porres Society, providing support to Salesian Missions.
Predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Peter; her parents Olivio and Rosa Trocate; and six siblings. She is survived by daughter Loretta (Chad) Engler of Fernandina Beach, FL; and sons Peter of DeLeon Springs, FL; and Mark of Atkinson, NH; and two grandchildren, Skylar & Connor.
Olinda enjoyed cooking, gardening, and making new friends. She will be forever missed as a lover of all people; helping those in need; and having endless compassion and empathy for others.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 3, 2025 at 10:00AM at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, NH. Private interment at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Olinda's memory to Salesian Missions, 2 Lefevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY 10801, www.salesianmissions.org. Please also light a candle and pray for Olinda & Peter at 3:00PM on any given day, as they were devoted to the Divine Mercy.
