Paradis
March 25, 1943 – June 29, 2025
Atkinson: Normand J. Paradis, a resident of Atkinson for the past seventeen years, died peacefully in his home on the morning of June 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Born in Frenchville, Maine, son of the late Romeo and Blandine (Albert) Paradis, he attended local schools.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Norm enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1963, serving as an airplane mechanic and helicopter gunner. Rising to the rank of Specialist 4, he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1965 and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the Marksman Badge, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Expedition Medal (Vietnam) and a Letter of Appreciation. He went on to serve four more years as an Army reservist.
Normand was a former resident of Whitman, MA before moving to Atkinson in 2007. He was employed for thirty years as a construction foreman at Methuen Construction, retiring in 2016. An avid bass fisherman, Norm enjoyed boating and fishing in local ponds and lakes. He was a well-loved member of the community and loved his four-legged feline companions.
Normand will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-nine years, Kathleen (Spillane) Paradis, a daughter, Melissa M. Paradis of Atkinson and her partner, Dan Alosso, a son, Jason Paradis of Hartford, CT, two granddaughters Kaitlyn and Jessica Paradis, a brother Robert and sisters, Mary, Sandra, Tina and Jackie, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside prayer service and burial will be announced at a later date by Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home of Plaistow, NH.
