December 28, 1927 – December 7, 2017
Norman Perino, 89, a longtime resident of Haverhill, MA., passed away peacefully, at Penacook Place in Haverhill on December 7th, 2017. Born December 28, 1927 to Ralph and Katherine (Lucey) Perino of Italy and Ireland, respectively. Norman attended Haverhill Public schools, was a graduate of the Haverhill Trade school, Class of 1945, and then served in the Korean War with the 1st Army Division, 19th Infantry Regiment, Company B, where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, and Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars. After returning home, he dedicated his professional career working as a Machinist, for the Pope Machinery Company in Haverhill, and was a member of the International Association of Aerospace Workers.
Norman will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife Gloria (Davies) Perino, of 64 wonderful years. He is survived by two sons Ralph Perino of Bradford, MA., and Herbert Perino and his wife Sue, of Plantation, FL., his two daughters Norma (Perino) Emery and her husband John of Danville, NH., and Kat (Perino) Seifert and her husband Rich of Fairfax, VA.
Norman was predeceased by his four brothers Harold Perino of Groveland, MA., Raymond Perino of Reading, MA., Ralph Perino of FL., and Roland Perino of Washington, D.C. Norman leaves 4 grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Sean, Adam, Tom, and Steven, and 3 great-grandchildren Sean, Riley, and Abbie.
Norman was an avid history buff; especially remembered for his knowledge of Haverhill, his hometown. He loved sports, and was a Little League umpire for many years at Swasey's Field on Wednesday nights, and continued long after his own boys had grown, and moved out of Little League. Norman loved to travel with his beloved wife Gloria, and visit religious sites like Rome, and historic castles like the Neuschwanstein in Germany, creating many lasting memories.
Norman was a member, with his wife Gloria, of All Saints Parish, and a former member of St. Rita's Parish in Haverhill. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 4pm -7pm at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home , 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. His funeral will begin on Wednesday morning at 9 am from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am, at All Saints Parish in Haverhill. Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery.
