Norman A. Fountaine, 91, of Plaistow died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Wingate Rehabilitation Center in Haverhill. The son of the late Henry A. Fountaine and Rebecca (Dupont) Fountaine. He had been an area resident all his life where he attended the Pollard School and Haverhill High School, class of 1941.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Janice (Steer) Fountaine, nephew, Robert W. Steer Jr. and his wife, Julia of Merrimac MA, nieces, Helen Steer, Jena McRae and Mary Roberts, nephews, Glen Steer, John Steer and James Steer. Numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive him. He was pre-deceased by his sisters, Cecile Fountaine and Irene Barnes, nephews, James, David, Steven and Robert Fountaine, Frank Thornhill and his niece, Beverly Cormier.
Mr. Fountaine was retired as a shop layout operator from the former AT&T with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and volunteered for Nursing Home "special projects". He enjoyed league bowling, the Boston Red Sox, gardening, refinishing furniture and Antiquing with his wife Janice.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5-7 PM and on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 11 AM - 1 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. A prayer service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery in Plaistow will take place in the spring.
