Norman G. DeAndrus, 81, a resident of Plaistow for the past forty years and a former resident of Lawrence, died peacefully on April 25, 2020, in his home with his loving wife by his side.
Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Guido DeAndrus and Veronica "Vienna" (D'Agostino) (DeAndrus) Pappalardo. He attended Assumption Grammar School in Lawrence and Central Catholic High School. He also attended classes and had a talent for art, graphic design and photography. He served in the Army National Guard from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1959.
Mr. DeAndrus was employed for thirty years at the Gillette Company in Boston, Andover and Lynnfield until retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks #65, the Northeast Mountain Man Association and the American Mountain Man Association. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, skiing, snow shoeing and wood carving and loved animals, in particular his dogs and horses.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Marty; many dear cousins; faithful friends Denny and Brenda Michaud; sister-in-law Doris Champagne of Plaistow, NH and brother-in-law Henry Champagne and his wife Suzanne of Springfield, VA; and his second family - his brothers and sisters in the NEMM and AMM associations, in particular Dan and Cathy Cripps and Ron Marshall.
Our special thanks go to the Rockingham VNA and Hospice and the New Creation staffs for their dedication and support.
Due to the national health emergency, funeral services under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make a donation in his memory to New Creation Healing Center, 80 Route 125, Kingston, NH 03848 or to a charity of one's choice.
