Haverhill: Norman R. Brunelle, 83, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
The son of the late Raymond and Laurette (Payette) Brunelle, Norman graduated from Lawrence Central Catholic High School in 1955 and later received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Lowell Technical Institute.
He was employed for thirty-eight years at Western Electric Co., AT&T Technologies and Lucent Technologies in North Andover until his retirement.
A longtime member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish of Haverhill, he was also a member of Christ The King Council of the Knights of Columbus, Groveland. He was an active volunteer at the former Saint Joseph School and was also a former basketball coach and St. Joseph Little League coach.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Norman enjoyed camping with his family at "The Bluffs" of Danforth Bay Camping Resort in Freedom, NH as well as camping sites in Maine and Rhode Island. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling in leagues at Academy Lanes in Bradford and playing cribbage and 45's. Also among his favorite placs to be were Cajun festivals and hot air balloon festivals.
Predeceased in 2019 by his beloved wife of sixty years, Donna R. (Burnham) Brunelle, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Laurie J. Collins and her husband Rick of Haverhill and Karen M. Sullivan of Haverhill; two sons, Norman R. Brunelle, Jr. of Haverhill, and Scott A. Brunelle and his wife Patti of Georgetown; two brothers, Ronald Brunelle of Rockland, ME, and Louis Brunelle of Berlin, NH,; eight grandchildren, Rick Collins, Jr, Erin (Collins) Bodin, Bryan Collins, Matthew Collins, Julie Sullivan , Ellen Sullivan, John Scanlon and Jacqueline Scanlon; five great-grandchildren, Quinn Collins, Eamon Bodin, Emmett Bodin, River Collins and Rory Collins and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to Norman's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Friday, September 3, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA.
