Hampstead, NH:Norma F. (Rose) Shelly, 88, died on August 1, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.



Born in Brookline, MA, daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Donnelly) Rose, she was raised and educated in local schools and graduated from Brookline High School.She later attended Vespa-George Art School.



An accomplished portrait artist, she was a member of the Waltham Garden Club and a past president of the Waltham Emblem Club.



An avid Tennis player, she played competitively until the age of seventy-five.



Mrs. Shelly was predeceased by her husband Lt. Col. Lyle M. Shelly US Army (Ret.) andis survived by her son, Lyle K. Shelly of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two daughters Carole Sullivan and her husband Michael of Hampstead and Paula Shelly-Vasquez and her husband Victor of Waltham, MA; her foster son Kevin Coleman and his wife Mary of Needham, MA; one brother Kenneth Rose of Franklin, MA; two sisters Carol Fay of Newton, MA and Eleanor Fraser of Conway, SC; six grandchildren, Jennifer Hagerty, Melissa Colburn, Ryan Sullivan, Zayde Buti, Casey Coleman and Carolyn Coleman, four great grandchildren Samantha Hagerty, Hannah Hagerty, Connor Colburn and Spencer Colburn and several nieces and nephews.
