Plaistow, NH: Naomi (Stevens) (Culbert) Sainsbury, 82, a resident of Plaistow since 1999, and formerly of the Ward Hill section of Haverhill, died at home on December 31, 2018.
Born in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Glenn and Pearl (Seavey) Stevens, she moved to Haverhill as a child where she was raised and educated, graduating Haverhill High School with the Class of 1955. She was employed for thirty-six years as a layout operator at Western Electric Co., AT& T Technologies and Lucent Technologies, retiring in 1999.
A member of the Rockingham Church of Plaistow and a former member of the Church of the Nazarene, Mrs. Sainsbury was an active volunteer for ROME. A member of the Communication Workers of America and the Telephone Pioneers, she also enjoyed reading, knitting, traveling by R.V., and spending her winters in Florida.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of nineteen years, John Sainsbury, her children, Walter R. "Butch" Culbert and his wife Kathy of Newbury, MA, Susan L. Culbert and her partner Maryanne Zanfagna of Cranston, RI, Sherrill L. Culbert of South Weymouth, MA, Randall S. Culbert of Tenn., and Glenn A. Culbert, now known as Michael Rhodes of Tenn., a sister Ruth Kaghan and her husband Jack of Florida, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her dog, "Mitzy" and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service to be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Rockingham Church, Newton Road, (Route 108) Plaistow. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in the State of New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The Wounded Warriors Project or to Campus Crusade/Family Life.
