Nancy Jean Tatro, 84, lifelong resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away after a brief illness, on Sunday September 20, 2026, at Andover Manor in Andover, Massachusetts, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Helen (Hinkson) Tatro, and Nancy was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1960. She continued her education after high school at the Lawrence General Hospital Nursing School, Class of 1962.

Nancy was proudly employed at the Hale Hospital in the pediatrics ward for the city of Haverhill as the school nurse. For forty-seven years she was affectionally known as “Nurse Nancy” to hundreds of Haverhill School children before her retirement. She loved to travel and would take many trips to visit family and friends all over New England. Nancy also loved playing bingo and played often with her friends through the years. She was also an avid knitter and cherished giving all the nieces and nephews handmade mittens for Christmas.

Nancy will be sadly missed but forever loved by her nephew, John “Jack” McDonald and his wife, Carol of Dracut, Massachusetts, nieces, Jane Ray and her husband, Charlie of Kingston, New Hampshire, and Patricia Farley of Battle Creek, Washington, as well as many great nieces and great nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her sisters, Beatrice Samoisette, Marjorie McDonald, brother, Ray Tatro, Jr., and her nephew, Michael McDonald.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Graveside Service for Nancy on Friday September 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Riverview Cemetery, 173 Main Street, Groveland, Massachusetts.
