Barrington, NH: Nancy J. (Standing) Marden, 83, of Barrington and a former longtime resident of Newton, died suddenly on February 9, 2022 at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Palmetto, Florida.

Born in Exeter, NH, daughter of the late William and Charlotte (Nason) Standing, she was raised in Newburyport, MA, Byfield, MA and Newton, NH and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She was employed as an administrative assistant at the East Kingston Library, and the Gale Library in Newton and as an assistant librarian at the Sanborn Regional High School Library in Kingston.

A wintertime resident of Winterset Resort of Palmetto, Florida for many years, she was also a former resident of Wolfeboro, NH, Milton, NH,  and Rochester, NH.

A member of the former First Baptist Church of Newton, and longtime member of the Board of Trustees of the Sanborn Seminary, she also enjoyed membership in the Good Ole Sports of Rochester and volunteering as a facilitator at the Grief Support Group at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH.

Mrs. Marden owned several motor homes that she drove on trips to Pennsylvania, Mississippi and Florida. She also enjoyed sewing, dancing and day trips around Lake Winnipesaukee.

Predeceased by her husband John D. Marden in 1998, she is survived by a son David W. Marden of Stratham, NH and a daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Daniel Ayers, of Barrington, a brother Gary Standing of Newton, NH. She was predeceased by a brother William Standing and a sister Jeannette Bowen.

Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12 o'clock Noon at Highland Cemetery in Newton.
